If you run a Shopify store, you already know ads are how most new customers find you — and that making them is the part nobody warns you about. No designer, no copywriter, and a blank Ads Manager screen. Here's a workflow that gets you running real ads without either.

Start with the creative, not the targeting

Around 80% of an ad's performance comes from the creative — the image and the words — not the audience settings. Meta's algorithm finds the right people once it has a creative worth showing, so spend your energy here first.

Use the tool free →
Don't polish one perfect ad. Make several rough ones from different angles and let the data pick the winner. Four angles worth testing:

Problem/solution — show the pain your product removes

Social proof — a review or "people are buying this"

Demo — the product in use, in someone's hand

Offer — the discount or bundle, stated plainly

You don't need a studio

Shoot your product on your phone near a window with soft, side light. A white piece of poster board bounces light into the shadows. Take more shots than you think you need — straight-on, angles, and "in use." Real-looking photos often beat glossy studio shots in the feed because they don't look like ads.

Write copy that leads with the hook

The first line is everything — people decide in a second. Lead with the result or the problem, not your brand name. Keep it short, end with a clear call to action, and make sure the ad clicks through to the exact product page, not your homepage.

Make it faster with AI

Doing all of this by hand for every product is the real bottleneck. That's why we built AdCreator AI: snap a product photo on your phone and it generates ad copy for Facebook, Instagram, Google, and TikTok — several angles per platform — plus finished image ads with the headline, body, and call-to-action built in. It pulls your store name and brand details from Shopify so the copy stays on-brand, and it runs inside your Shopify admin.

If you want to skip the blank-screen part of ad creation, you can install it here: https://apps.shopify.com/adcreator-ai

Either way — start ugly, test several, and let the numbers tell you which ad to put money behind.
